Hey everyone,

As you can see, this is my last blog. I set out on this adventure thinking I could show others how to coupon for makeup, but I think its not as interesting to others as it is to me. This has been a fun journey and I got my feet wet a little in the blogging world. I greatly appreciate my two followers, one in which is my boyfriend who I am forever indebted to. My journey couponing for makeup is ongoing. I mean who doesn't like to save money and get lots and lots of makeup for half of the retail price. I really hope you all have learned a tip or two to help you shop for makeup economically. I love looking my absolute best and it feels even greater when I can save a few coins from handy dandy coupons! Thanks everyone and be sure to clip those coupons!!!!

My Favorite Online Beauty Companies

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to Makeup Connect with Diva...Dominique!!!

I wanted to come to you all today with my favorite, absolute favorite online companies to shop. In fact, these two companies is where I started to buy my 120 palettes and because I just love makeup sales, I would often times take advantage of their bundle deals. BH Cosmetics and Coastal Scents are without a doubt two great companies for makeup lovers on all levels. I love the quality, affordability, and the overall pigmentation of their colors. I know many of you are familiar with Coastal Scents hot pots. Those things are God's gift to makeup lovers literary. They run a .99 sale on them seldomly and this is the time to take advantage, FULL advantage. I can't get enough of Coastal Scents hot pots. I love their sleek packaging design and I don't know where anyone can find a 252 color palette mixed with shimmer, metallic, and mattes for under $19.99. This has to be one of their most popular palette as it has a wide range of colors that can be used to create any look imaginable. They also feature really great bundle deals that would be ideal for an aspiring makeup lover who lovesssssssss COLOR!!!
http://www.coastalscents.com/

BH Cosmetics is very similar to Coastal Scents. I love their 120 palettes especially the 1st and 2nd edition. The color pigmentation and the variety of deep blues, purples, and pink will just have you mesmerized honey. In fact, I have purchased many of their bundle deals that even a seasoned makeup artist can't resist. I highly recommend these companies especially if you are on a budget. Now, let me say y'all that I would never recommend products I myself don't use. I started out with these two companies, drugstore brands, and elf cosmetics. A year later I am still using these products and I will continue to use them. I find that in some cases, its not always about the product, but the skills of the individual. Sometimes you have to develop a clever idea to mix and match products to arrive to that flawless finish.

Building your Makeup Kit effectively with Coupon/s

Heyyyyyyy everyone,

I am so proud to announce that I have a new Youtube channel which is Dominique Watson and I will do weekly videos showing you how to coupon for makeup at different drugstores, Ulta, Target, and Walmart. Next week, I am going to do record in the actual store showing you live how I coupon for makeup. So let's get into this week's beauty deal.

CVS is offering a $4 OFF $12 coupon for cosmetics. This is an awesome score and did you know that you can use your manufacturer coupons too. This is an even greater savings in addition to the other makeup sales they having going on. This week 8/3-8/9 they have all Revlon and Maybelline cosmetics buy one get one 50% off. Need a coupon?

http://www.coupons.com/coupons/Personal-Care-Coupons-101/

You are able to print this coupon two times per computer! This would be a good time to get items for your personal/traveling kit. I usually take advantage of bogo deals especially when I have coupons on hand. Why? Because I get double the product for less. Yassssss honey!!!!

Did you all know that MUA Makeup Academy is now in CVS?! Be sure to check your local CVS and please note that not all CVS's carry this line as of yet. Currently, their products are 25% off which is a good deal I would say and you can use the CVS $4 off $12 store coupon.

Let's see.... Almay has a deal going too where if you buy $10.00 in product you will receive $3.00 back. You can use this extra care buck (ECB) on other items, preferably makeup!!!

Physicians Formula is here y'all!!!! I have heard so many great things about this line, but has yet to try it because its a little on the costly side! But wait?? Is there a coupon for this? This week at CVS they are offering an even better deal. If you purchase $15.00 in product you will receive a $7.00 ECB! I can think of a few new makeup items that I can buy with $7.00 and use coupons on top of them.

Photocredit: Iheartcvs.com Thank you.

Be sure to browse coupons.com frequently to print cosmetic coupons. Perhaps there may or may not be a sale, but as usual different drugstores run deals advertised and unadvertised all the time.

I really hope you all enjoyed this week's beauty deal and check out my Youtube channel: Dominique Watson and follow me on Instagram makeupdiva901_ as I post deals, hauls, and other beauty related posts!

Building your kit one coupon at at time...

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to Makeup Connect with Dominique. Lately, I have received a lot of questions on how I am able to purchase makeup at such a reduced price. Well, the answer is simple... as a savvy shopper, I always buy makeup when its marked down, buy one get one 50% off, of course when Ulta has their $3.50 off $10.00 coupon, really great sale, and when there is a extra care buck or register reward involved. I really want to emphasize to everyone that couponing for makeup is NOT tedious, mundane, or overwhelmingly time investing. In fact, when I coupon for makeup, I usually have a few coupons. Sometimes I print the coupons from coupons.com or I clip them from a Sunday's newpaper. Also, please note that sales are regional. Meaning, if there is a sale at CVS this week for 50% all L'Oreal products does not necessarily imply that your CVS which is more than likely in another state will have the same deal. So always keep that in mind. It is best to get at least one Sunday newspaper just to browse different sales at your local drugstores.

Now, the deal of the week!!!! Drum roll pleaseeeeeeeeeee. This week's beauty deal is Wet'nWild, my absolute favorite drugstore makeup. Where can you find a color like Panther for .99? Exactly! A few weeks ago we received a ww coupon for $1.00. Usually, I purchase 5-7 newspapers, but this week I purchased 10 because this was one of those "Hallelujah" moments.

Here, I purchased 6 wetnwild items and they all were under $1.00 at Wal-Mart. I had 6 $1.00 off coupons and because the items were .93 I ended up with a little overage which explains the -42. The -42 was applied to my subtotal. As you see the -42 was applied to my taxes and overall I paid .10 for ALL of the items. Yes, you heard it right .10 for ALL 6 items. Literary, .10 is practically in pennies at the bottom of our purses. As a makeup artist, I can add these shadows to my personal kit or to my travel kit for clients. In the next post I will show you a more realistic approach using only 1 coupon.

I really enjoy combining my passion and my hobby together. It has sparked an interest that I really enjoy blogging about.

Please be sure to share and subscribe to Makeup Connect with Dominique.

Couponing for makeup is easy as 1-2-3

Hi everyone,

First, I would like to send a special thanks to all of my viewers. I really enjoy blogging about couponing and makeup. I mean c'mon it is the best of both world- figuratively. Today's series is a little different as I usually obtain my coupons from Sunday's inserts, but today I printed them off one of my fav websites to print coupons, coupons.com. Since some of you probably do not purchase newspapers, you might have access to internet and a printing device. In 2014, the "American Dream" should depict a husband and wife, dog, house, 2 children, and a computer of course with internet!!!

Coupons.com is a really helpful site that has a variety of of coupons that allows you to print 2 copies per printing device. Typically, I use 2 coupons in addition to a current sale price such as buy one get one free or buy one get one 50% off. Currently, drugstores in my area such as CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aid are running a buy one get one 50% off sale. Also, Ulta has a buy one get one 50% off deal on Revlon products. Because I mainly shop for drugstore makeup, this was a major bonus! I used this coupon last week at Ulta in addition to the $3.50 coupon and paid under $7.00 for two revlon lip products. I have the Rite-Aid picture posted because I wanted you all to see that manufacture coupons can be used in several stores and usually drugstores have some type of deal going on. If you are building your kit, buy one get one free or 50% off deals are double the investment because one item can go in your personal kit and then the other in your traveling kit.

Let's rewind: Where did I get the coupons? Go to coupons.com and scroll down until you find cosmetic related coupons. Please be advised coupons are periodically added and removed. So you know what that means, when you see a cosmetic coupon, PRINT it!!!

Where can you use the coupon? You are able to use the coupon at Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, Ulta, and several drugstores. I am located in Memphis, so be mindful that store coupon policies varies, but there is no harm in trying! Especially when we are talking$$$$.

Thanks everyone and feel free to comment if you have more questions I might have missed. Please be sure to subscribe and share with other beauty lovers!

Couponing for hair care products

Hey everyone,

Nowadays, hair care is a crucial part of women's lives and as a result, we spend top dollar for quite expensive hair care products. While shopping for hair care products can be expensive, even for men I came across a few coupons that I was able to get FREE shampoo and conditioner. Yeah, you heard me right, FREE!!! Oh, how I love free things.

Well, sometimes free isn't always good, but this time it is. Ha! A few weeks ago in the proctor and gamble or p&g insert was a $5.00 of 2 head and shoulder shampoo or conditioner. Luckily, Target had it online for $2.48 and in the store it was twice as much. Oh, the sweet advantages of "Price matching." I price matched the online price and used the coupon which made it practically FREE. In fact, it was free as the subtotal read $0.00! I have 6 items shown in the picture because I had 3 coupons.

I regularly get asked if I purchase multiple newspapers in order to get multiple coupons? Ok, who knows the answer to this question?!!! I will give you a hint? Does a makeup artist loves his/her brushes?!!! Okay, that was way to easy, but the answer to this questions is Yesssssssssss!!!!! Yesssssss!!!! As a couponer, I purchase 5-10 newspapers per week. I decide how many inserts I purchase by the "greatness", yes greatness of the coupons. Okay, back to this week's beauty series. My total savings was $14.88!!! This saving deserves a "Hallelujah" moment... You know a moment where the saving is so good, you can't help but to embrace the goodness of that saving.

I know many of you will only purchase 1 newspaper and this is perfectly fine. The savings are just as good so keep that in mind. Thanks everyone and be sure to subscribe for weekly beauty tips, couponing tips and all that other good ole' stuff.

Stay blessed,

diva

#couponforhaircare

Hey everyone,

I am a beauty lover of all things, especially if I can get them for free or almost free. In fact, free is one of my top favorite words. Ha! This past week at Target I was able to score .37 shampoo and conditioner value set. That's right, shampoo and conditioner for .37. Last week Target had a sale on Suave hair care products and if you purchased $10.00 of the qualifying items you received a $5.00 gift card. I am not sure about you, but I can think of several cosmetics items that gift card would come in handy. This series is a little different because I did not use coupons that usually come out of the Sunday's paper, but from a tearpad typically found in drugstores. I came across a Suave tearpad while in Walgreens and I made sure to gather a few because I sensed a great sale coming. The coupon was for $1.00 off any Suave Professional Hair Care product.  I didn't know when or where, but that it was coming! Oh, quick tip for those following my scenarios. If you find a tearpad in your local drugstore for beauty/cosmetics be sure to snag several because you can use them for future sales. Luckily for my savvy shoppers, I came across a Target coupon online  that was $3.00 off a $10.00 Suave purchase. The shampoo and conditioner set was $3.79 and remember the sale was spend $10.00 get back $5.00 gift card. I purchased 3 of the shampoo and conditioner sets which came to $11.37. I used the printed $3.00 off $10.00 Target coupon and  3 of the Suave coupons. My total came out to be $5.37. Then I received a $5.00 gift card which means I really spent .37 for the set. I have three gift cards pictured because I did other deals, but I was sooooooooo happy because now I can purchase the new Maybelline nude palette that I have longed for now about  2 weeks.

Lets recap...

Where did I find the coupons? In Walgreens shampoo and conditioner aisle.

I printed off a $3.00/$10.00 coupon from http://coupons.target.com/.

Math breakdown

$3.79x3=$11.37- $3.00 =$8.37 -$3.00=$5.37  I paid the remaining total and received a $5.00 gift card so be sure to subtract $5.00. That brings my final total to an incredible .37.

My total savings was $11.00. I know it seems like a little savings, but just think if you saved this amount or even a few dollars more per shopping haul. Overtime, you will see a significant amount of savings and feel the benefits in your pockets. Couponing for my beauty needs has saved me hundreds of dollars in just a few months. Stay tuned for weekly posts and also details on my upcoming youtube channel.

#IAMNOTMYMAKEUP

Hey everyone,

Lately, I have seen countless of alarming videos on social media that defames women for wearing makeup. The content surfacing social media has seemingly made a spectacle of what has been a female practice for decades-makeup. As I ponder on why society overwhelmingly makes these degrading memes, videos, and other disparaging imagery that associate negative connotations to makeup, I realized that #iamnotmymakeup. Makeup is a form of art and has different social and personal meanings. For example, several fellow makeup artists argues that they share a strong passion for makeup not because it's the "trending" occupation, but because of the art. As mentioned in my first blog post, makeup is for some an escapegoat from the world. Many makeup artists are mothers, hold corporate and demanding careers, supermoms, and etc. Makeup for some is an outlet that allows individuals to explore their creativity. Just so happen creativity can come from using intensely pigmented colors, glitter (we all love a little sparkle), bold lips, and the possibilities are endless.

After watching this video, I thought it was quite the transformation. Wait a minute? Isn't that what makeup has the power to do? Transform... Let's be honest here. How many of us has naturally defined brows? long flaring eyelashes? colored cheekbones? even all over skin? naturally strong contours of the jawbones, etc.... I will be the first to say that I don't have any of these features, but with the help of makeup it can be gracefully achieved. I wasn't shocked to see her transformation as I have seen tons of similar transformations. THIS IS ART!!! When a person can take a sparse brow to a uniquely defined brow, THIS IS ART!!. When an artist puts on eyelashes, THIS IS ART!!!. When an artist makes a rainbow on her eyes, THIS IS ART. When an artist uses paint to draw pac man on his/her lips, THIS IS ART!!! Seriously, one of my makeup followers will draw just about anything on her lips to perfection- THIS IS ART!!!

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=282546048597218&set=vb.100005254747161&type=2&theater

While there is a  preponderance of imagery surrounding women wearing makeup, I seldom see artists take a stand for what they love. I think women and men should, especially makeup artists, makeup lovers, makeup enthusiasts should be more proactive in counteracting these negative messages about women who wear makeup.

Therefore, I decided to start a challenge, #iamnotmymakeup challenge. This challenge conveys the message that we are proud, we love what we do, we love our natural beauty, and we love ourselves. Makeup is simply an enhancement, not who we are. Makeup does not define who or what we are. Hence, #iamnotmymakeup !!! The collage should consist of two pictures, one no makeup picture next to your full face makeup pic using the hashtag #iamnotmymakeup. Lastly, on your non-makeup #iamnotmymakeup!!! Be sure to post it on ALL social media sites, tag artists to join, spread the word and share the love!!!

Surprise Deal of the Week

Remember on the last post I mentioned I've found Milani in Dollar Tree stores?!!! I went to Dollar Tree today and of course I had to scan the makeup aisle. Surprisingly, I found these Milani liquid liners and nail polish, and Maybelline single eyeshadows. I did a quick search on Walgreens website and these bad boys were priced at $6.99!!! Talk about a savings. To make matters even greater...you don't need a coupon. I am a huge fan of Milani products, but I absolutely suck at liquid liner.  For makeup artists building your kits, be sure to frequently stop by Dollar Tree and you'd be surprised at what you find. I also stop by drugstores to check for markdown and clearance makeup. Couponing for makeup helps you to buy makeup at a significant discounted price. Also, it allows you to save money for future costly products. Although a lot of my makeup is low-end, I purchase some high-end products ONLY when I know its an absolute must have (like Ruby Woo and Candy Yum Yum).

Sorry about the semi-blurry pics. I will have tip top shape pics next time.

Be sure to subscribe to Makeup Connect with Dominique to learn tips, advice, and to talk about issues prevalent in the makeup community.

Lipstick lovers... beauty deal!

Hey everyone,

Welcome to Beauty Connect with Dominique!!! Where are all my lipstick lovers???? I am sure you will love this week's beauty deal. Ulta has their Revlon products buy one get one 50% off (bogo). This is a great time to have those Revlon coupons and the $3.50 off $10.00 purchase coupon. Now, this week I used coupons that I printed off coupons.com!!! The site only allows 2 prints per printing device, but this is perfectly fine because you only need 2 of the Revlon coupons. If you did not receive your Ulta coupon in the mail you can always go to Ulta's website and print the coupon. Are we still on one accord? If not, keep reading and  I will break it down in later in the text. I purchased the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Shine ($9.99) and the Revlon Lipgloss ($8.99) that I am in love with might I add!

I used a total of three coupons which are 1 Ulta $3.50 off $10 coupons and 2 printed Revlon coupons from coupons.com!

After I used all the coupons in addition to the  50% deduct from bogo it came to a grand total of $6.75 excluding taxes. I saved $11.75 which is a significant savings. Now I know there are so many things you can think of to buy with the money you saved. I wanted to buy the new highly sought after Nude Maybelline palette, but it was no where in site.

One of my beautiful followers informed me that her area did not have an Ulta which is a little depressing. If you do not have an Ulta store you can use the coupon on there website. Yes, it does allow you to use the coupon code to get your savings, but it does not accept manufacturer coupons. She also informed me that her Walmart did not carry wetnwild. When couponing for makeup please note that all stores may or may not carry certain items. Also, check in stores such as Dollar Tree. I have seen stores that carry Milani, Revlon, Rimmel, and Wetnwild for $1.00. The same lipstick that would normally cost $2.00 at Walgreens, I've found at Dollar Tree for $1.00.

Be sure to visit coupons.com and print cosmetic coupons and hold on to them as a sale arises.

Thanks everyone and stay tuned for next weeks beauty deal!!

Please share with a lipstick lover!!!

Building your Makeup Kit one SALE at a Time

Hello everyone and welcome to Makeup Connect with Dominique! Today's post is a little different because I discuss conventional ways to build your makeup kit (low end to high end) through weekly store deals. This past weekend I had gone couponing and came across a HUGE clearance section while at CVS. There were tons of makeup that was marked down 50%. In some cases you can use coupons on markdown and clearance makeup which is a BONUS for your pockets! Considering that couponing can be a bit overwhelming or seemingly tedious, finding clearance and markdown makeup is a cost-efficient alternative to build your kit. A lot of makeup products especially in drugstores is seasonal. For example, last summer I purchased a lot of my fall lippies in the summer. Typically around the summer and fall, drugstores circulate their makeup and because its a drugstore they are more than likely to markdown the makeup at a significant low cost. This is a great time to have handy a few coupons to lower your out of pocket expense to save for that expensive product you have been wanting.

What stores should I frequent? Stores are regional and vary by location. I am located in Memphis, Tennessee and our drugstores are CVS, Walgreens, and Riteaid. Stores such as ULTA, Target, and Walmart often times have really great clearance items. The sale ad changes weekly so its important to visit these stores weekly mainly to get first grabs at newly marked down makeup!

How can I save money at drugstores? Most drugstores have a shoppers card which allows you to received items at a discounted price. At CVS and Walgreens they have a beauty club where if you purchase a certain amount of cosmetic products overtime, you receive a voucher toward future beauty purchases. Be sure to get those shoppers card!

Building your kit 101: If you have a trusted friend, a makeup swap is another way to build your kit.  Several months ago I did a makeup swap with a girl from Germany and it was so exciting to get makeup from another country.

Cons of drugstore makeup: Although I am a fan drugstore makeup, it is important to know when and when NOT to purchase makeup at drugstore mainly because it is sometimes overpriced. For example, drugstore makeup is typically higher than Walmart and Target. However, drugstores often run sales (i.e. bogo, 40% off, etc.) compared to Walmart who generally does not, with the exception of markdown/clearance.

Diva Deal of the Week feat. Wetnwild

Hiiiiiiii everyone and welcome back to Makeup Connect with me, Dominique. I really hope that somewhere out there someone is actually learning how to coupon for makeup. Be sure to share, subscribe, and comment on postings. I really enjoy interacting with everyone and hope that Makeup Connect is the one-stop-beauty-stop for all you Glamourous makeup enthusiasts/ artists. Now that I have made my announcements, lets get into this week's Diva Deal that I know is very popular with MUA's. If you purchased your newspaper yesterday, then more than likely you received a $1.00 off  WetnWild coupon. Please note that some coupons are regional in addition to coupon's value.

I loveeeeeeeeeeeee WetnWild products, especially their eyeshadows, lipsticks, and liners. They are cost-efficient, intensely pigmented, and of great quality. This week I decided to go to Walmart to shop for makeup to compare their prices to drugstores, which is where I normally coupon for makeup. I purchased 4 single eyeshadows, 1 nail polish, and 1 eyeliner pencil. Would you believe me if I told you I only paid .10 for 6 items?!!! I know, I was a bit in shock myself and this by far has been the lowest out of pocket purchase since I began couponing for makeup. Now that you are all excited on just the sheer thought of paying .10 for 6 WetnWild items, keep reading for a complete newbie coupon friendly breakdown.

Walmart single eyeshadow (wnw) and nail polish is originally priced at .93. Their eyeliner pencils vary in cost, but for budget purposes I purchased a .93 eyeliner pencil. Let's do the math.

.93x6=_5.58_ excluding taxes

I used 6 $1.00 OFF coupons retrieved from my Sunday's newspaper. When you compute your math it should come out to -.42. That -.42 goes to your purchase essentially reducing your total. After taxes I only paid DRUM ROLLLLLLLLLL .10!!!!!

This was a very great deal and I believe everyone could benefit from  .10 makeup whether you are a makeup lover or not. Couponing for makeup is an honor of mines simply because I have a rewarding opportunity to combine my hobby and my God given passion together-makeup.

For more exclusive tips on couponing for makeup be sure to follow me on Instagram (makeupdiva901_) and Facebook-CouponGals901. I will soon introduce my journey with the world on Youtube so be on the look out for "thatmakeup&qpongirl"

Couponing for Makeup... Covergirl .54 Eyeshadow

Hi everyone,

If you are a makeup lover like me, I am pretty sure you can and will appreciate Covergirl eyeshadow for .54. Covergirl is a popular drugstore makeup brand. I think the quality is amazing, I love their colors, pigmentation, and its affordable- especially on SALE. Typically, you can find Covergirl in Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, Ulta, Kroger, and CVS.

This week couponing series was found at Kroger. Currently, Kroger has a buy 5 save $5 special and it includes Covergirl single pan eyeshadows. They are regularly priced $2.54 and on sale for $1.54. If you all have followed my previous posts, then you know to get at least one weekly newspaper and clip those coupons!!! A few weeks ago, we received a $1.00 off any Covergirl product coupon. If you have this coupon, you can use it on this Covergirl item which makes this .54. That is a score, a big score at that. Sometimes, you can find cosmetic coupons from reputable coupon websites.

Here is a breakdown of the transaction: Original price $2.54 on sale as part of the buy 5 save $5 makes this item $1.54. Using the $1.00 off coupon that was retrieved from a previous newspaper makes this item .54. Since I only had four of the coupons, I mixed it with another qualifying item.

Couponing for makeup can be very exciting, especially with the amount of savings overtime. Balanced couponing can be as simple as clipping a few coupons out of your weekly newspaper. If you are a beginner makeup lover and do not have much money to invest initially, this will significantly build your kit in time without breaking the bank. Be sure to stay tuned for my upcoming youtube channel, "thatmakeup&qpongirl."

Label Whores

Makeup whores, lipstick whores, label whores are commonly used terms coined in the makeup community to. "Label whores" is a  highly controversial topic in the makeup community. Why? Because some makeup artists think that high end products are most times incomparable to low end products and that the quality of high end products is worth the investment no matter the cost, literary-the cost. As a makeup lover, I love makeup of all brands, cost, and quality. I really believe that the brand of makeup one uses is about 40% of a flawlessly makeup application. I say 40% because a person's technique alone can make a significant difference in makeup application. Furthermore, the quality of a person's brushes contributes greatly to a successful makeup application. I know many of you are familiar with the E.L.F makeup company. When I started out doing makeup, I mainly used elf products especially their brushes. I needed  brushes that would blend my makeup seamlessly and effortlessly. I still would use a lot of my elf products, but I upgraded to better quality brushes that suites by skills and intermediate level of makeup. So for me, it is not solely the brand of makeup. In fact, 80% of my makeup collection is drug store and online makeup such as bh cosmetics and coastal scents.

I asked other  makeup lovers their thoughts about "label whores" and an outpour of responses were discussed. Surprisingly, many of the makeup lovers contended that label whores confine their skills by  limiting their makeup collection to high end products. While MAC is a very popular brand of makeup, some believed that MAC like other high end products are comparable to lots of low end products especially in terms of quality. Wetnwild is a very popular makeup brand that has lots of makeup dupes and the quality is unmatched considering that it is a drugstore line of makeup. To drive this point home, Beatfacehoney recently recreated Rihanna's makeup look and guess what she used to recreate the look??? A Covergirl shadow palette!!! While some were in absolute awe, I was snapping in Z formation because I know the power honey in drugstore makeup. Another one of my makeup lovers mentioned that she has seen women spend their bill money honey for a $25.00  lipstick. Yes, you read that right, bill money. I have one word for that, INSANE! If I wasn't a couponer, I would be a Dupewhore. There are so many comparable dupes for high end makeup, especially lipsticks, eyeshadows, and foundations. Another makeup lover asserted that he purchased a high end lipstick that was $37, but the quality was almost the same as most brands. One can take from this makeup artist feedback that sometimes to say the least we BUY into the label and not the quality. Labels are only that- a label. Often times, we buy into certain labels thinking our makeup will look just as good as our favorite youtube guru. Oh, here is a good one. When Banana powder hit the stores, everyone was raving I tell ya about how its a must have and your highlight girl will be amazeballs. I guess this is where I tell you all that I did order the banana powder in one of the most popular shades.  I felt so silly because I did not know how to apply it and it was to light for my skin tone. Furthermore, I could have simply went to the beauty supply store and purchased a less expensive product in the RIGHT shade, yet good quality by Ruby Kisses. This is not a bash for label whores, but to simply say this...you can achieve a beautiful flawless finish without spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars. If you are indeed a makeup lover, I am almost confident that he or she can work with any makeup, high-end or low-end.

Label whores seemingly place a great deal of security and validity in their "high-end" products when the security should be in their technique and uniqueness of their craft. Labels are undoubtedly associated with "high" expectations as shown with the $37 lipstick, even high end products quality is sometimes unparalleled to low-end products.

Diva review on L'oreal Extra. Colour Rich

Hey everyone,

Seemingly, the more I blog, the more creative each post grows. I thank God for that!

L'Oreal recently introduced a new lipstick called Extraordinaire by Colour Riche. Where do I begin with this review?!!! I was so happy that I purchased these new lipsticks so much that I had to go back and purchase tow more. I absolutely love their lipstick for many reasons. The color payoff is amazing, it leaves your lips feeling very silky-smooth. Also, I really like the color options, the packaging is my oh my very elegant and the overall pigment is very ideal for those everyday lipstick wears, light days, bold and creative days, you get the point!! If you want to achieve a signature Diva lip this is definitely the lipstick to go to. I really love everything about this products considering that I have dozens of lipstick brands in my collection, and this is by far one of my top favorites. Makeup wise, it takes a lot to impress me and I must say In am SOLD honey!!! I also like that this lipstick has a shine to it which gives your lips a very vibrant appeal. Ladies, oh and gents too, once you apply this product you will see how even the applicator contributes to a beautifully pigmented finish on your lips. L'Oreal definitely came with their A game when they named this product Extraordinaire because there is simply nothing ordinary about this product. Snaps in Z formation.

So Diva, Would you recommend this product? I would definitely recommend this product especially if you are a lipstick lover.

I do wish the product was a few dollars cheaper, but in this case, the product is great quality and usually you can find it on sale at your local drugstore or Ulta.

Beauty deal and Diva review of L'Oreal Extraordinaire

Hi everyone, welcome back to this week's beauty deal. I am sure that many of you are lipstick lovers and I for sure love lipstick in ALL colors and most brands. Recently, I purchased L'Oreal Extraordinaire in colors 105 and 106. I must say that I was a little taken back due to the price, but realized I had coupons for these items! Snaps in Z formation for COUPONS!!!!

I purchased these amazing lipsticks from one of my favorite beauty stores, Ulta. I purchased two of these lipsticks and Ulta at the time had a buy one get one 50% off sale. Also, Ulta had a %20 off your purchase coupon. If you haven't already, be sure to sign up for Ulta's email and mailing list. They often times send out coupons and you can preview upcoming sales.

The original price for one lipstick is $9.99 and the second lipstick was half of that price. Remember I mentioned that I had coupons? The coupon was $3.00 off one L'Oreal Extraordinaire lipstick and so I used two of those. Lastly, I used the %20 off coupon which bought my final total to $7.58 excluding tax.

As an added bonus I swiped by Ulta rewards card and received 7 points. Overall, my total savings was $12.40. I pretty much purchased two lipsticks for the price of one.

Where did I get the coupons? I clipped the coupons out of my weekly Sunday's newspaper.

Balanced couponing is what I refer to as simply clipping a few coupons and use them accordingly to save money. This transaction only consisted of two coupons in addition to Ulta's store coupon.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the companies mentioned in this blog. I purchased these products with my own money and was not contacted to review these products.

Be sure to check under the DIVA review section for a complete review of (drum roll) L'Oreal Extraordinaire!!

Ulta's Beauty Haul

Hi Divas,

Welcome back!!!! I sincerely appreciate those of you for tuning into my beauty blog MUAHHHH!!!

So let's get into this week's beauty deal. I absolutely love Ulta and was awed when the cashier told me that they do in fact accept manufacture's coupons. This is a major plus for those who are building your kits as Ulta frequently has clearance makeup. Furthermore, some coupons can be used on clearance makeup. I purchased 1 Ulta automatic eyeliner (2.00), 1 Almay eyeshadow ($4.99), 1 L'Oreal true match crayon concealer ($8.99), 1 Maybelline high shine lip gloss(3.49), and as a freebie 1 Miracle leave in conditioner which came to a grand total of $8.97. I know right, great savings huh?! Talk about Diva on a budget.

What coupons did I use? I used Ulta's $3.50 off $10.00 purchase, a $4.00 off any Almay product, a $2.00 off L'Oreal face product, and $1.00 off any Maybelline lip product.

After using only 4 coupons, my total was under $9.00 with a total savings of $16.51 which is a great saving that can be used for future purchases or that new palette you have your eyes on!!!

Where did I get the coupons? I received my ULTA coupon from ULTA sales ad that came in the mail or you can simply go to Ulta's website to print the coupon. Often times, the cashier can scan the coupon on your mobile device. How convenient is that?!!!! Gota love Ulta.

Disclaimer: I am not compensated or affiliated with any of the companies mentioned above. I purchased ALL of these products with my own money.

Couponing for Makeup! 05/13/2014

Hi everyone, if you are like me, you are fascinated with beauty products. This week I was able to find some great hair care products for under $3.00. I try to provide you all with scenarios that are feasible and ideal for the everyday person who doesn't have hours to spend out of their week to search sale ads and coupons.

I purchased 2 value sized and 2 regular sized Vidal Sassoon shampoos and conditioners. The total cost was $3.00 excluding tax. Wooooooooow Diva, how did you purchase 4 bottles for the price of 1? Keep reading!

I had 4 Vidal Sassoon coupons that was valued at $2.00. At Family Dollar, one bottle of value sized shampoo is $4.75, but they were on sale for $2.75. I used 4 $2.00 off coupons and my total price for each bottle was.75 cents.

Let's do the math .75x4= $3.00 and there you have it!!!!

For those of you who do not have a Family Dollar, check your local Dollar General store. Dollar General has regular sized Vidal Sassoon for $2.50. If you have one $2.00 coupon, you can score this product for a whopping .50 cents. That isn't so bad huh? Couponing for beauty products can be as easy as 1-2-3 and requires little to no effort at times!

Diva, Where can I find the coupons? Coupons can be found in your weekly newspapers. Often times, you can print coupons from the company's website, but there is usually a limit.

Couponing and Makeup Beauty Deal 05/03/2014

Hey everyone, so who loves Pantene products? And especially for their shampoo and conditioner. Let's get into this weeks "beauty deal." The beauty deal this week is at Walgreens, might I add is my favorite store to coupon at has a sale on Pantene shampoo and conditioner. The deal goes at follow: Purchase 3 pantene products, specifically shampoo and conditioner on SELECTED STYLES for 3/$10.00. Originally, they are $3.99 each. In last Sundays newspaper, there was a $5.00 off coupon when you purchase three Pantene products. Surprisingly, I saw several Pantene products that had a $1.00 of coupon. I used two of those $1.00 coupons in addition to the $5.00, which brings my total to $3.00. In practice, I got two of the products for FREE and only paid for one product. Also, please note that coupons and sales are regional, so depending on your location, sales may or may not be readily available. Many times, some people are reluctant to try couponing because they may see it as this mundane or a bit overwhelming. But balanced couponing only requires that one purchases at least one Sunday newspaper weekly and use them as good sales permit. Let's just pretend that I didn't find those two extra coupons, well that one $5.00 coupon solely is a great deal for shampoo and conditioner. Couponing is simply what you make it and the significant savings are worth the few minutes clipping coupons. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment and I will respond in a timely manner. I will have weekly beauty deals ranging from hair care products to cosmetics, which will have a complete breakdown of each deal. I really hope that this helps that beauties who are on a budget, but don't want to sacrifice quality. Thank you ever so much and I appreciate your time!!!! Stay Glam, Dominique

Meet Dominique

Hi everyone, My name is Dominique Watson and I am a aspiring freelance makeup artist based in Memphis, Tennessee. I am owner and co-founder of Glamour Faces makeup artistry which my main goal is to "Enhance women's beauty with Glamour." My favorite makeup quote asserts " Give a woman the right makeup, and she can conquer the world." I hold this to be absolutely true, and in fact, I feel that makeup, specifically "Glamour" transcends a woman's self-confidence. So I guess this is the time for me to tell you all about me huh?! Well, I am 27 years young and I love the art of makeup. I also enjoy couponing and reading sociological and historical based literature. I recently graduated from The University of Memphis with my Master's degree in Sociology. I also wrote my Master's thesis on body image issues that investigated sociocultural factors such as race, media, and culture. In my free time, I coupon for just about everything especially makeup. I love everything that consist of beauty, particularly tresses, makeup, and nails. God poured an excessive amount of fabulousness when he created me! I decided to start blogging specifically about makeup because I recognized the need to discuss issues (i.e. racial disparity, colorism, etc.) prevalent in the makeup community from a sociological perspective though not exclusively. After watching countless youtube videos, reading blogs, and surfing social media sites I realized the inequalities that exist. Thus, I wanted to create and share with the world something unique and not simply a reiteration of ideas. Given my interest in couponing, I will share cost-friendly ways to coupon for makeup. Couponing?! Girl, ain't nobody got time for that, lol. I will offer ways to coupon that will consist of clipping a few coupons out of your weekly newspaper- and that's it! Please be sure to share, comment, and subscribe to my blog. I will post once a week in addition to weekly youtube videos. Thanks everyone and stay tuned for my next post titled "Sociology & Makeup." If you want to follow me on social media, please be sure to check on the left side for details. Stay Glam, Diva
